    Total right knee replacement

Dr. Haile is very personable and professional, and he discussed the treatment options with me before I made the decision to have my knee replacement surgery. It has been 12 weeks since Dr. Haile replaced my knee, and I could not be happier. The procedure and recovery have been uneventful, and I attribute this to Dr. Haile’s surgical expertise and the availability of information and exercise protocols the practice provided before and after the surgery. The post-operative pain decreased significantly at about ten days after the surgery and continued to decrease until at three weeks I discontinued the opioid medication as there was no pain, only some stiffness. I used the walker all the time for about ten days after surgery and then I used it only when going outside to medical appointments for the next week. Since I was not able to drive, I always had my husband/chauffeur to lend me his arm outside. I started driving at eight weeks and felt stable enough to walk outside and go shopping. I encourage anyone having surgery to obtain an ice machine and use it consistently after surgery to reduce pain and swelling. Also, in person physical therapy is very important to making good progress toward returning to normal function.
I will definitely recommend Dr. Haile to anyone needing a consultation for a knee problem
