Dr. O. David Taunton, Jr. is a joint replacement specialist who has practiced almost exclusively hip and knee replacement for the past ten years. Originally from Alabama, Dr. Taunton graduated from Auburn University with honors. From there he went to the University of Alabama School of Medicine for both medical school and Orthopaedic residency training. During his residency, he performed research on hip and knee implants, and developed a strong interest in joint replacement surgery. He subsequently obtained additional joint replacement training at the prestigious Anderson Orthopaedic Research Institute in Washington, D.C. Dr. Taunton has been a member of the Alabama Orthopaedic Society, and is currently a member of the Texas Medical Association, and the Tarrant County Medical Society. In addition, he is a diplomat of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a fellow of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Taunton specializes in revision joint replacement as well as primary joint replacement.
